ECOWA Pre-Election Committee Meets IGP

Head of the Economic Committee of West African States (ECOWAS) Pre-election fact finding mission to Nigeria, Mr. John Kufor has commended the proactive strategies of the Nigeria Police towards ensuring a hitch-free 2015 election. John Kufor, a former President of Ghana gave the commendation during a working visit to the Inspector General of Police. The visitor remarked that the mission is to among other things, appraise the level of preparations of the Nigeria Police in ensuring violence-free polls in the forthcoming elections. The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba informed him that adequate resources have been committed to the provision of necessary logistic to enhance effective policing of the election process.
