Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly Reject Proposed Additional Polling Units Created By INEC
The Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly has rejected the proposed additional 30,000 polling units created by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. This was the outcome of the Emergency meeting of the leaders of the Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly held in Abuja.
The emergency meeting was attended by elders council and management committee of the Southern Nigeria Peoples Assembly representing the three geo-political zones in the southern part of the country. The meeting while deliberating on the proposed creation of additional 30,000 polling units and the strategy for the implementation of the 2014 National Conference report stated that it rejected the proposed polling units as INEC neither used any scientific formula nor historical.
