PDP and Others Mourn Akunyili
The Peoples Democratic Party , PDP says it received the news of the death of the former minister of information and former NAFDAC Director General Professor Dora Akunyili with deep sadness. A statement signed by the PDP National Publicity secretary. Chief Olisah Metuh says the nation has lost one of her best. The party describes her as an exceptionally brilliant academician, energetic administrator who excelled in all the assignment given to her. The PDP therefore condoles with the Akunyili’s family, the good people of Anambra state, the academic community and the entire nation. Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, in his condolence to the National Conference Secretariat,. The federal government and the Akunyili family said the late Professor Dora Akunyili deserves special mention among nation builder of Nigeria. He said she would have impacted well at the National conference. Also the President Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has described the death of Professor Dora Akunyili as a national loss. Pastor Oritsejafor recounted Professor Dora’s achievement at NAFDAC where she fought fake and counterfeit drugs. Minister of Health Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu and the National Council of Women’s Societies have also condoled the family and Anambra state on the death of Prof. Dora Akunyili. They described her tenure as the Director General of NAFDAC as an eventful and result oriented.
