Defence HQ Recovers Arms
The Defence Headquarters says military operations in Kaduna and Plateau states have led to the recovery of arms and some stolen livestock from armed militia. A statement by the Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade says 3 wounded militia were arrested while over 150 cows and sheep were recovered as well as weapons. Major General Olukolade cautioned traditional rulers in the areas against shielding or harboring armed gangs adding that cordon and search are continuing in the areas. In the meantime Defence Headquarters says encounter terrorists campaign in the North East has continued with series of encounters as identified make shift camps of the terrorists are being dislodged in the ongoing air and land raids in forest and mountain locations.
