First Lady Recieves Ethiopian Counterpart

The First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan has played host to her Ethiopian counterpart Mrs Roman Tasfaye at the Presidential Villa Abuja. The First Lady says African women must continue to draw from their strength to contribute to the growth and progress of the continent.

She pointed out that African women have a history of being a stabilizing influence in their home and community and promised to work with African First Ladies under the auspices of the African First Ladies Peace Mission to build capacity of the women as effective agents of peace for the purpose of development.

Mrs Roman Tasfaye who is in Abuja for the second high level meeting of the global power women network Africa was full of praise for Dame Jonathan’s consistent roles in championing the cause of women and the less privileged in Africa.

Present at the meeting were Madame Nompumelelelo Mantuli-Zuma, the First Lady of South Africa and the Minister of state, foreign Affairs Professor Viola Onwuliri.
