Expressing concern on the challenges that hinder promotion of quality education in Nigeria, CSACEFA says Nigeria accounts for more than 10 million children out of school with more than 40,000 teacher shortages in the universal basic education programme. And to worsen the situation, conflict and terrorism have negatively impacted on access and learning achievements in the North resulting to teachers inability to deliver in classrooms.
With the slogan without a teacher, a school is just a building, the 2013 Global Action Week is a campaign to make a demand from Government at all levels to act now and ensure that every child has well-trained teachers. CSACEFA is a coalition of 40 education NGO’s with more than 600 members across the Federation.
