Interim Burkina Faso’s PM Visits Buhari, Discuss Inauguration of New President

President Muhammadu Buhari this Wednesday granted audience to the outgoing interim Prime Minister of Burkina Faso Mr Michel Kafando.

The two leaders who met behind closed doors at the state House discussed among others the forthcoming inauguration of the newly elected President of Burkina Faso Mr Roch Christian Kabore.

The outgoing Prime Minister formally expressed his countries appreciation to President Buhari for the role Nigeria played in the promotion and sustenance of democracy in the West African country.

Apart from donating twenty pick up vehicles to the National Electoral Commission of Burkina Faso to facilitate the return of the country to full democratic rule, Nigeria also played a key role towards restoring the country to the path of order and constitutionalism following a coup D’tat that almost marred the peaceful electoral process.

Both the outgoing Prime Minister of Burkina Faso and the Nigerian Leader spoke to Newsmen at the end of the meeting.
