One killed, Houses Razed In Ebonyi communal Clash

Ebonyi State Police command has arrested the alleged killer of a youth in Ndieguzu Agalegu Omege community that led to the breakdown of law and order in two Ebonyi communities.
The Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu who confirmed the arrest, said that crisis erupted when two youths from Ndieguzu Agalegu Omege community and Ukwu Inyima both in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State fought and one of them from Omege was stabbed and died later in the hospital.
His death infuriated some youths from his community who went on reprisal attack burning houses and destruction of properties Worth millions of naria.
The spokesperson said the Police immediately drafted a team to the area yesterday to curtail the crisis and has also launched an investigation into the matter.
A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity gave NTA News an account of the incident, noting that the crisis was as a result of a fight that happened in November 2024 after the burial of a woman raped and killed by unknown persons.
He appealed to the state government to intervene to forestall future occurrence.
However, the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation Jude Okpor, said the State is aware of the incident and is doing their best to control the crisis.
