Update on Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage meeting

Meeting of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage has commenced at NICON LUXURY Abuja.

The representatives of the federal and state governments are the first to arrive and are holding a sperate meeting before the arrival of the organized labour and organized private sector.

Present in a closed door meeting include the Minister of State Labour and Employment Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubaka Atiku Bagudu, Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo, representing the governors and the Chairman, National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), Ekpo Nta.

The Organized Labour is expected to join for negotiation later in the day as the committee hopes to arrive at a considerably New National Minimum Wage today.
