Army confirms killing of personnel in Shiroro area of Niger state

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of some its personnel in an ambush while responding to distress call about bandits’ attacks in Shiroro area of Niger state on Wednesday.

A statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukuwu, says
General Officer Commanding 1 Division has moved to the location to take charge and re-enforce the
location while some of the criminals have been neutralised

The Nigerian Army encourages civilians to exercise restraint in posting images of such occurrence as this comes with some emotional burden on bereaved families.
