Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC deploy 2, 100 personnel in Plateau
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Plateau, said it has deployed 2,100 personnel to ensure a peaceful celebration of the 2020 Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
Mr Tanimola Obasa, the corps spokesman, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Jos, adding that the move was aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and property. Obasa urged members of the public to adhere strickly to the ban on the operation of commercial tricycles (Keke napep) during the celebration, and warned that anyone caught would not be spared. “The Commandant of NSCDC in Plateau,
Dr. Solomon Olasupo, wish to assure the general public that the Corps and other security agencies have put in place all necessary measures to ensure a peaceful celebration.
“In this regard, the Corps have deployed 2,100 officers and men to ensure a hitch free Sallah celebration. “The general public is called upon to adhere strictly to the suspension of the operation of tricycles. Anyone caught violating the order would be dealt with. He called on residents of the state to be law abiding and report groups or individuals who would want to truncate the fragile peace being enjoyed in the state. (NAN)
