Election Facts and Figures: What is at Stake

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held its final press conference with stakeholders on Friday ahead of Saturday’s February 23 Presidential/National Assembly and March 9 Governorship/State House of Assembly 2019 elections.

INEC reassured the Nigerian people of its readiness to conduct a free, fair and credible elections. The electoral umpire gave a breakdown of figures related to the conduct of the elections.

Out of the 84,004,084 million registered voters, 72,775,502 million permanent voter cards (PVCs) were collected and expected to participate in the elections. This number represents %86.63 of the total number of registered voters.

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, also addressed stakeholders on the level of preparedness of the security outfits to provide adequate security to voters during the elections.
