FG Approves 10 Billion Naira For The Rebuilding Of Communities Affected By Bandits
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of 10 Billion Naira for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of communities destroyed by armed bandits in the North central and North West respectively.
The President made this known on his Facebook page. According to the statement, the Vice President has been directed to oversee the disbursement of the funds and ensured that the money is used judiciously.
“We are increasing security deployments in the North Central and North West, where there have been violent attacks on communities by bandits and criminals. In addition, we are focusing on the humanitarian challenges, all of the displaced people who are now living in camps”.
He said, “We will ensure we secure their communities, and we will help them to return home to rebuild their lives and livelihoods and get the children back to school. I have approved the sum of 10 Billion Naira for the rebuilding of affected communities and tasked the Vice President to oversee the disbursement of the funds, to ensure that our goal of rehabilitation and reconstruction is achieved”.
“We are also engaging with State Governments and community leaders, to build trust and understanding and ensure that all grievances are identified and addressed.
I thank the Government and people of Benue and other affected States for their understanding and continued support, as we work together to restore peace and security to all troubled areas”.
