Cleric Says Why Christians Should Hold On To The Spirit of Thanksgiving
Special Apostle Funsho Korode, the General Leader, Cherubim and Seraphim Ayo Ni O, has urged Christians to imbibe the spirit of thanksgiving.
He made the plea on Sunday at the 30th Anniversary and Youth Harvest Thanksgiving at the National Headquarters, Surulere, Lagos.
He urged Nigerians to appreciate God no matter the difficult situation they faced.
He said “it was good to say thank you to the Lord and to sing praises to God who is above all gods no matter the situation we find ourselves so as to get more blessings and favour.
“In giving thanks to God, we are making our requests known to Him and we will get more blessings and He will surely come to the aid of the people and the country at large.
“If we give thanks to God, He will favour the country; He will locate us and take the country to the top.
“I want to urge all of us to continue to give thanks to God no matter our situation because as we thank God, He will roll away our challenges and we will be better and the nation will also be better.”
Korode also urged youths in the country to imbibe the culture of hard work and dedication to service.
Special Apostle Seyi Coker, Shepherd Youth Fellowship, also urged youths to stay focused and avoid anything capable of creating hate and disunity among Nigerians.
He said youths were privileged to have come at a time where technology fastened the phase of development in the country and the world at large.
“You must plan because it is a thing of joy to see the next generation of Nigerians having responsible dreams,” he added.
Also, the Youth Band Coordinator, Most Senior Mother in Israel Funmi Olaniyan, urged youths to take up the challenge of good leadership in the country.
Olaniyan said the country looked forward to young people to be committed to issues of accountability and good governance as their guiding principles.
She prayed for unity and stability of Nigeria as one indivisible nation.
Mr. Sam Aderibigbe, the Secretary, Harvest Committee, said there was a need for governments at all levels to empower youths to secure the future of the country.
Aderibigbe said “the situation of our youths was of particular concern at this time; any nation that failed to take care for its youths was jeopardising its future.
“Training and development of our youths in our different localities must occupy the front burner.
“So many youths who graduated from higher institutions were jobless and had nothing to do; we must all take a critical look at the situation.”
