Kebbi State: Gov Bagudu At Interactive Session With Young Professionals

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu says his administration will create the necessary platform upon which youth can give their contributions to the development of the State.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu affirmed this when he hosted different young professionals from within and outside the state to a consultative session and Ramadan Breakfast at the Banquet Hall Government House Birnin Kebbi. The consultative forum included Medical Doctors, Bankers, Lawyers, Nurses, Enterprenuers, National Youth Corps Members ICT, Professionals, Sports Promoters, Women Groups, University Lecturers and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

The Governor who spoke extensively on various issues such as ICT, Empowerment, and Agriculture said he invited the group to initiate a process of engagement and ways they can work with the state government to develop the state.

Governor Atiku Bagudu expressed joy that the state is so blessed even though regretfully it has experienced under development and backwardness over the recent years. He emphasized that, the vision of his administration was to reverse the backward trend and make the state greater.

On Agriculture, His Excellency said his administration recorded national and international commendation and pledged that the government will continue to improve production of food crops for food security and export.

The commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Garba Mohammad Dandiga who was also present observed that in the past youth were not encouraged to engage in agriculture because of the difficulty involved, but announced that the Atiku led administration made agriculture an easy to platform and attractive to youth through modern farming. The Commissioner announced that, the administration has procured one hundred tractors as well as hundreds of power tillers, threshers, and other farm equipment which will be distributed to farmers to improve production.

Contributions and messages from the various groups acknowledged the tremendous effort of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to develop Kebbi State with his vision for change and pledged to partner with his administration in all fields of endeavour to ensure success.

Many requested the government to assist youth with financial support, entrepreneurship and encourage further the use of information communication technology in schools.
