NNPC/Sahara Energy Unveil Vessels

The West Africa Gas Ltd, a joint venture company of the NNPC and Sahara energy will unveil two liquefied petroleum gas vessels on tomorrow Tuesday, in Ulsan South Korea to boost availability of cooking gas.

NAF Strike Boko Haram New Hide Out

The Nigerian Air Force says it has destroyed a new hide out of the Boko haram terrorists which is about one nautical mile south of Tumbum Rego.

A statement by the director of public relations and information group captain Ayodele Famuyiwa says the location was destroyed by NAF fighter jets and helicopter gunship sequel to intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance report that the insurgents who attacked ground forces at Kangarwa on the night of 12th January had withdrawn to the said location.

The statement further adds that the Air Force has intensified aerial patrol in the north east as well as the green belt region near Niger and Chad republics

NIMASA Speaks on National Carrier

To enhance freight haulage and create job opportunity in the country, the federal government has developed a national carrier.

Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Dakuku Peterside explained this at a news agency of Nigeria forum in Abuja.

For the successful actualization of the national carrier, the Nigerian government is going into partnership, with pacific international line, a Singaporean company with 40% equity while 60% is for Nigerian private ship operators.

Troop Discover Boko Haram Shallow graves and ammunition

Troops of 119 task force battalion of 7 brigade Nigerian army on Operation Lafiya Dole while on mop up and clearance patrol today, came across graves of Boko haram terrorists that escaped with gunshot wounds and died after an encounter on 13th January 2017 and buried in shallow graves.

A statement by Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, director army public relations said, the troops also recovered a 36 hand grenade and one 12.7 x 108 mm round of ammunition concealed by the terrorists.

The troops have continued their patrols by dominating the general area of Baga, Kangarwa and Dogonchikun with a view to intercepting fleeing Boko haram

UNIDO To Tackle Organic Pollutants in Nigeria

The United Nations industrial development organization, UNIDO has restated commitment to support the implementation of the Stockholm convention in Nigeria.

This was the outcome of a one day stakeholder consultation forum focusing on gender dimensions on the convention.

Update on University of Maiduguri Bombing

The national emergency management agency spokesperson Sani Datti has confirmed to NTA news that a third female suicide bomber was gunned down earlier by the military at Bara Karaya village behind university of Maiduguri.

The suicide bomber according to Datti was sighted by villagers who alerted the military.

She was gunned down, while police EOD secured the un-exploded IED vest.
