CAS Decorates Promoted Senior Officers

The high-level ECOWAS mission to the Gambia has encouraged president Yahya Jammeh to reconsider his rejection of the recent presidential election results and work towards upholding the nation’s constitution for lasting peace, stability and democratic order in the Gambia.
This was during mediation talks convened by President Muhammadu Buhari and other sub-regional leaders in Banjul aimed at resolving the political impasse in the country.
President Buhari Presents 2017 Budget
President Muhammad Buhari has presented and laid the 2017 appropriation bill before a joint session of the national assembly.
The budget of n6.07tn for 2016 was predicated on a crude oil benchmark price of $38 per barrel and n197 to a dollar exchange rate.
The president expressed optimism that the 2017 budget would not only end the current economic recession facing Nigeria but would also shoot the country into economic prosperity.
Senate president Bukola Saraki called for closer collaboration between the government and the private sector to improve the economy.
He noted that both the legislature and the executive have identified and worked on past mistakes in the interest of the nation and promised that the national assembly will ensure that a good job is done on the budget proposal.
FG Urges Communities To Protect Projects
The federal government has enjoined communities across the country benefitting from ecological intervention projects to protect them for the good of their people. Minister of state for agriculture and rural development, senator Heineken lokpobiri made the appeal at Sagbam, Bayelsa State while inaugurating the shoreline protection project, funded by the ecological fund office in the area.
He stated that within the limits of scarce resources, the federal government considered the town deserving of the intervention project, and enjoined the public to protect it. He assured that all on-going ecological projects and project by other federal government agencies in the state will be completed.

President Muhammadu Buhari says the prevailing economic situation notwithstanding his administration will continue to raise the moral of the nation’s military personnel in appreciation of their sacrifices for national unity, stability, and integrity.
The president stated this while decorating newly promoted officers among his aides with their new ranks.
