NAN further reports that all the polling units in the local government were organised at the Community Secondary School, Bera.

The agency reports that voters were coordinated but under the heavy presence of the security operatives.

All Progressives Congress (APC) and All Progressives Grand Alliance agents were seen in each of polling units in the Ward 16.

In March this year, INEC conducted legislative rerun elections in the different constituency in Rivers state after the cancellation some results in the 2015 general elections.

INEC had to again suspend and cancel the exercise in some constituency and polling units due what it described as violence and intimidation of election officials and voters by well-armed thugs and miscreants allegedly acting on behalf of some politicians, which marred the elections in some areas.

Attacks during the election witness fatalities, kidnappings, ballot snatching, diversion of officials and materials, amongst others, which necessitated its suspension in 8 Local Government Areas.
