President Buhari To Officially Open Comprehensive Special School In Lafia
Disabled Students get Wowed as Gov. Almakura Takes Them on a Tour of Comprehensive Special School Lafia.
His Excellency Umaru Tanko Almakura has called on physically Challenged Students to remain in school and to work hard so as to achieve their dreams and desires, challenging them to see themselves as the persons that will provide assistance to the society and should always consider themselves as important.
Gov. Almakura who gave the challenge as he hosted physically challenged students and their teachers from Lafia, Obi, Doma and Keana to an extensive tour of the Comprehensive Special School Lafia which would be official open for academic activities next year.
Ta’al Circle reports, Governor Al-Makura personally accompanied the hundred plus students to tour the school where he showed them the sickbay, the hostels, teachers quarters, classroom, playground and the main hall before having lunch to them all.
Gov. Almakura informed them that the school would accommodate 1000 students, and would have a testing lab that would constantly test the blind on their eyesight, the deaf on their hearing and provide hearing aids for them, as well provide therapy for the speech to the deaf and therapy for the crippled.
Lastly, he said that due to the importance attached to the school it would be officially opened by President Muhammadu Buhari himself early 2017. Stating the school would be for children from the ages of 4 upwards and would be totally free.
He expressed his desire to continue being part of the school even after he leaves office stating he would take keen interest and even provide scholarship to students to further their education.
