NAF Strategize To Overcome Security Challenges

The Nigerian Airforce has expressed confidence that the Security challenge in the Country will soon be overcome as necessary logistics and strategies have been put in place.

The reassurance came when the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar embarked on an Operational visit to the North-East.

 

Churches Annual Thanksgiving

Nigerians have been urged to be appreciative of God’s blessing upon the nation by reflecting righteousness in all they do.

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria FCT and Senior Pastor First Baptist Church, Garki, Reverend Israel Akanji gave this message at a service to mark Church’s Annual Thanksgiving.

The Acting Director Information Defence headquarters, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar has emphasized the importance of effective collaboration between the Military and the Media towards building a more functional and indivisible Nigeria.

FG To Look Into Non-Implementation Of Scholarship

The Federal Government says the Federal Scholarship Board would look into the issue of non-implementation of Scholarship Awards.

This will cover for 2012, 2013 and 2014 Awardees of the President’s NYSC honours award. Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu said this at the National Conference and Reunion of members of the National Association of the Awardees in Abuja.

 

President Buhari To Attend Cop-22 In Morocco

President Muhammadu Buhari is to attend the 22nd Conference of the parties to the United Nations framework convention on Climate Change – UNFECCC, also known as Cop-22, in Marrakech, Morrocco, from tomorrow.

A statement from Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina says President Buhari will participate in the opening Plenary on November 15 where he will deliver an address during the high level segment of Cop.22.

The Presidential address is expected to highlight, among other key issues, Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to implementing the Nationally determined contributions and policy actions aimed at tackling Climage Change through environmental sustainable efforts.

 

 

Kinsmen Clamour For The Immortalization Of Lt. Col Abu Ali     

People of Gbolokio in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State have joined the clamour for the immortalization of Late Lt. Col. Muhammadu Abu Ali, saying the construction of a bridge across the River Niger linking Lokoja with his Community is a most befitting honour in memory of the Late War Veteran.

This was at the 8th day fidau prayers for the repose of the Soul of the gallant Officer killed by Boko-Haram Insurgents.

Fatima Aliyu reports that Estu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar was among Emirate personalities that attended the Fidau.

 

Bomb Scare At Port-Harcourt Airport    

Normalcy has returned to the Port-Harcourt International Airport after a bomb scare that occurred at the Airport in the early hours of this Sunday. An eyewitness told NTA News that the pandemonium occurred as a passenger deboarded from Air peace Flight few minutes to take off enroute Abuja.

Though the incident did not disrupt flight operation, the Airport Authorities have commenced investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident.

NTA is yet to get a reaction from the River State Police Command.

 

NCC And Protection Consumers

The Nigeria Communication Commission has reiterated its commitment to ensure protection of Telecom Consumers from Market exploitation and empowering them to make rational and inform decision when making their choices of Services.

Director Consumer Affairs Bureau of the NCC Mr. Maikano Abdullahi stated this at 80th Edition of Consumer Outreach programme with the theme “Information and Education as catalysts for Consumer Protection, held in Awalah Hotel, Bauchi.

 

Nigeria To Raise Bar At ITU Bangkok  

All is now set for the 2016 International Union – ITU Bangkok Thailand.

The 4-day event which starts Monday with Nigeria participating will feature discussions, interactions and networking towards raising the bar of the Telecom Industry World Wide.

Interpol To Connect Nigeria Security Agencies To Database

Interpol is to connect key law enforcement agencies in Nigeria to its National Data Base tool known as i-24/7.

It s a data base for tracking a wanted person, stolen vehicles, artifacts, missing persons and other transnational criminals.The Data Base has been restricted to Police use.

A statement by the Police Headquarters says this is part of the fallout of the 85th Interpol General Assembly held in Bali, Indonesia, attended by the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris, Heads of Immigration Service and that of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency – NDLEA.

It adds that the Agencies to be connected are the Economic and Finance Crime Commission – EFCC, Immigration Service, Air and Seaports as well as all International borders.

IGP, Ibrahim Idris the statement noted headed a discussion Panel where he emphasized the effects of systematic corruption on efforts at curbing International terrorism, calling for closer collaboration of the International Communities.

Other resolutions was the resolve to revive the West African Police Chiefs Committee with its Secretariat in Nigeria.
