Sacrifices of Fallen officers and men in the war against insurgency will never go in vain- President Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari says the sacrifices of fallen officers and men in the war against terrorism in Nigeria will never go in vain, and that the memories of all fallen troops and heroes will be eternally etched in the hearts and minds of fellow citizens for whose sake they laid down their lives.
Reacting to the death of colonel Abu Ali, one of Nigeria’s finest and bravest soldiers in recent history, president Buhari said in a condolence statement issued by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, that he was rudely shocked by the news of the officer’s death along with other gallant soldiers during an encounter with the Boko haram bandits in Borno state. EFCC Investigates Diversion of trucks of grain meant for IDPs
The economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC is investigating an alleged diversion of thirty-one out of 113 trucks of grains donated to Borno state by the federal government.
This was disclosed at the formal handing over of the grains to the Borno state government.
Minister of Defence Mourns Lt.Col M. Abu
The defence minister Mansur Muhammad Dan- Ali has described the death of Lt Col. M. Abu – Ali as tragic and unfortunate development in the theater of operations.
The minister in a statement said he received the sad news while in Sokoto and prayed to almighty Allah to grant the war hero an eternal rest.
Defence minister described Lt. Col. Abu – Ali as a major pillar in the war against terrorism and insurgency in the north east. He also expresses his condolences to the father of the deceased Etsu of Bass-nge kingdom (Kogi state) Brig Gen. Abu- Ali (rtd), his young family and the Nigerian army.
Troops clear Boko Haram terrorists from Chukungudu, Lake chad region
Troops of 7 division Nigerian army, operation Lafiya dole, led by the general officer commanding of the division, conducted a decisive clearance operation into the remnants of Boko haram strategic hub town of Chukungudu on the southern fringes of the Lake Chad region, northern parts of Borno state between Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November 2016.
The manoeuvring brigade led by 3 battalion of 22 brigade, successfully cleared Geram, Bulankassa and Chukungudu believed to be the Boko haram terrorists stronghold in that area.
The gallant troops rescued 85 people, comprising of mostly women and children held hostage by the insurgents.
Similarly, they neutralised 5 Boko haram terrorists fighters in a fierce encounter that made several of the terrorists run into the Lake Chad waters.
the troops recovered 4 rounds of rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) bombs, 1 double barrel gun, 349 packets containing various rounds of ammunitions, 3 magazines, a link belt of machine gun ammunition and 1 ak-47 rifle magazine
During the clearance operations, the troops made spectacular discovery of an improvised explosive device (IED) making factory at Geram.
In the factory, they found several already primed suicide bombers’ vests. They also discovered well-equipped motor vehicles and motorcycles’ workshop and spare parts warehouse at chukungudu village.
The troops recovered 3 vehicles and several newly acquired motorcycles. Unfortunately, a soldier died during the encounter.
In line with rules of engagement, the IED, factory, vehicles and motorcycles were destroyed.

The senate president stated this when he received the Association of telecommunications companies of Nigeria, ATCON.

The federal capital territory administration says it is targeting the creation of ten thousand jobs for FCT women and youths by the year 2020.
FCT minister Muhammadu Musa Bello said this at the closing of the 2016 entrepreneurship and skills development programme organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello memorial foundation in Abuja.
Muslim Women Conference: President Buhari reiterates commitment to women and youth development
President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated the commitment of his administration to continuously pursue programmes and policies capable of promoting the welfare of women and youth with a view to engendering sustainable national development.
This was at the formal opening of the 31st annual conference of the federation of Muslim women associations in Nigeria in Lagos.
Boko Haram Attack Military Location in Borno
14 suspected Boko haram terrorists were killed on Friday when they unsuccessfully attacked the 119 battalion Nigerian army location at Mallam Fatori in Northern Borno state.
A statement from the acting director army public relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman says the troops in repelling the attack, killed the terrorists.
It states however that the army lost an officer and 4 soldiers, while 4 other soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries during the encounter. Read more

Troops Recover another Chibok school girl at Pulka Borno state
Troops of 121 battalion, Nigerian army, deployed at Pulka, Gwoza local government area, Borno state, for operation Lafiya dole today, Saturday 5th November 2016, at about 6.00am, while screening some escapees from Boko haram terrorists hideout in Sambisa forest, discovered one of the abducted government secondary school chibok girls, named Maryam Ali Maiyanga among them.
