President Buhari Commends Red Cross on Chibok Girls

President Muhammadu buhari has expressed formal appreciation to the international committee of the Red Cross for the role it played in the released of the 21 abducted Chibok girls.

Receiving the ICRC president Mr. Peter Maurer who visited him, the president called for sustenance of its humanitarian service in Nigeria.

IBB Reacts to 21 Chibok Girls Release

The former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida has reaffirmed his belief in the professional capability of the Nigerian armed forces and other security agencies in tackling the Nations security challenges.

He stated this while reacting to the release of the 21 abducted Chibok school girls made possible by the APC led president Muhammadu buhari administration.

Ministry of Women Affairs Meets Chibok Parents

Minister of women affairs and social development Aisha Jummai Alhassan says the federal government will rehabilitate, reintegrate and educate the rescued Chibok school girls.

She said this during an interaction with parents of the released Chibok school girls in Abuja.

Though the parents would not speak to the media, they showed excitement at the federal government’s gesture.

Federal Government on the Health of Chibok Girls

In another development, the federal government says it has the capacity to provide quality medical care to the released 21 Chibok school girls and those to be released later.

The Minster of health professor Isaac Adewole stated this in Abuja, when he visited the girls to assess their wellbeing.

He said the girls are in one of the excellent medical facilities in Abuja and a team of medical doctors, nurses, psychologists, oncologists and other professionals have been drafted to take care of them

Senate leader Ali Ndume commended the ministry of health for the prompt response in provision of medical support to girls.

Sultan of Sokoto Chairs CONFAB against Extremism

Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has described religious education as the only solution to religious extremism which is the cause of violent tendencies among followers.

The sultan was speaking at the commencement of an African regional conference for religious and traditional leaders on countering and preventing extremism.
