President Buhari Returns to Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari is back in Abuja after a four day private visit to Daura Katsina State.

The president arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 12 o’clock in the afternoon. He was received by the Minister of FCT Muhammad Musa Bello, the acting Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris, and the permanent secretary of the state house Jalal Arabi among other senior government officials.
While in Daura president hosted his 1953 class mates at the Katsina middle school where they shared fond memories of the past and prayed for a better future for Nigeria.

He was also treated to the breaking of the Ramadan fast by the emir of Daura Farouk Umar Farouk where he reassured Nigerians that of his commitment to fairness, honesty and justice as he strives for national salvation and development.

President Muhammadu Buhari Breaks Fast with IDPs

President Buhari warned that henceforth any individual or groups who try to test the will of his administration will be dealt with appropriately.

The President gave the warning while hosting the internally displaced persons, artisans and other disadvantaged Nigerians to the breaking of the Ramadan fast.

Troops Ambush Boko Haram Terrorists in Kukawa

Troops of 118 task force battalion, 8 task force divisions have ambushed some Boko haram terrorists along Gerere junction, Kukawa Local Government area, on the northern part of Borno State.

According to a statement by acting director army public relations colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,
the Boko Haram terrorists were suspected to be fleeing from the advancing troops of 119 task force battalion presently mopping the general area of Kangarwa in Kukawa Local Government Area.

FCT Police Command Arrests Suspected Criminals

About 20 suspected criminals have been paraded by the FCT Police Command in Abuja. The Suspects were said have committed different crimes in parts of the country including Abuja.

The suspects were said to have been engaged in car snatching, robbery, possession of life ammunition, possession of stolen vehicles and other personal belongings of unsuspected victims. They are members of different syndicate groups that operate along Lagos- Abeokuta axis, Ibadan, Anambah and the FCT.

The commissioner of police, FCT Police Command, Alkali Baba Usman said the police acted on intelligence from well-meaning Nigerians who gave tangible information about their criminal activities.

The Police Commissioner lso disclosed that ahead of the Eid el-fitri celebration, officers and men have been deployed at strategic areas of the territory.

While advising FCT residents to assist police with useful and timely information, he advised Muslim faithful not to carry bags and baggages to the praying ground to ensure smooth security operations.

Federal High Court Sacks Sherrif Lead PDP

A Federal High Court Sitting in Port-harcourt has validated the May 21 2016 National Convention of the people’s Democratic Party that produced the Ahmed Makarfi led national caretaker committee.

Justice Markhmod Abdulahi Liman held that the dissolution of the PDP National Executive Committee and national working committee through the convention was in accordance with the law.

As part of efforts to bridge the gap that exists in the study of science and mathematics among gender in science schools, a dissemination workshop on the study of science and mathematics achievement by gender has been held.
