It is in view of this that the Subsidy Reinvestment program, Sure-P and indigenous non governmental organisations like the Aisha Babangida Youth Leadership series project are partnering to create avenues to make the youth self reliant.
Two thousand youths in Niger State who have been undergoing intensive Basic Empowerment Skills under SURE-P and Aisha Babangida Youth Leadership Series have graduated. The training which is aimed at reducing youth restiveness in the society will avail the trainees starter – Packs to set up their own businesses.
In his remark, chairman Niger State SURE-P, Muazu Bawa enumerated the strides tained by the present administration in addressing unemployment problems, explaining that empowerment of these youth will have a great imoact on the socio-economic development of the state
Founder Aisha Babangida Youth Leadership Series project, Aisha Babangida said that the initiative is seeks to fill the unemployment gap in the state and in Nigeria as a whole and to prepare the trainees towards mobilizing their peers, families and communities for positive social transformation.
Special adviser to the president on political matters, Professor Ahmed Rufai Alkali said the number of youths trained is commendable and it is in line with the federal governments policy on youth development.
Other stake holders at the event commended the founder of Aisha Babangida Youth leadership series for contributing her quoter to reducing unemployment in the state.
