ENHANCING MEDICAL RESEARCH IN NIGERIA

Taking stock of the MDGs implementation in Nigeria the health related angle, speakers at the conference noted that Nigeria has recorded tremendous success in some of the agenda but has a lot to do in others. They emphasized the role of medical research in the attainment of the goals. Ethical conditions for conducting research in time of epidermic and adequate funding are some issues raised at the conference.
Dr. Nkiruka Odunkwo delivered a lecture on the interplay between non-communicable diseases and infectious diseases, developing countries challenges and prospects while Professor Rob Murphy a professor of infectious diseases from Northwestern university Chicago lauded Nigeria’s successful fight against Ebola.
