First Phase of the National Power Sector Apprenticeship Flags Off With 7,400 Trainees

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the enlistment of seven thousand, four hundred trainees under the First Phase of the National Power Sector Apprenticeship, NAPSAS. This was in a message to the flag off ceremony in Abuja. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator Anyim Pius Anyim represented the president

The national power sector apprenticeship scheme is designed to provide youth with the technical skills needed to effectively manage the country’s power sector. The scheme which has a six months duration is categorized into four batches of two years.

President Jonathan decried the skill deficit occasioned by the lack of recruitment into the sector in the last 20 years.

Goodwill messages focused on the need for state governments to build the nations human capital by developing programmes that address peculiar needs and challenges in their domain.
