DADA POTMAKERS OF ILORIN.

For more than 100 years, the women of Dada Okelele in Ilorin  Kwara state have perfected the art of pot making.

Their perfectly symmetrical vessels have been made without a potter’s wheel or any form of machinery.

Ahmad Ambali on a visit to their workshop however tells us of a decline in their once thriving business as modernity is threatening this masterpiece of cultural heritage.
