2013 World Literacy Day

As the World marks international Literacy Day, there is a clarion call to all Nigerians to intensify efforts to reduce the National illiterate statistics of 45 million. The Minister of State for Education, Ezenwo Wike, briefed Journalists as part of activities marking the day.
The Federal Ministry of Education says if Nigeria must be delisted by the united nations as the country with the highest number of out of school children in the world then the emphasis on adult and non formal education must be strengthened. The Minister of State for Education Nyesom Wike was speaking while addressing journalists on the 2013 international literacy day in Abuja.
