US Donates Bomb Disposal Equipment to Police
The United State Department of State has donated explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) remote control robots to the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja. The robots are capable of carrying out safe detonation of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and can demobilize explosive-laden vehicles among others.
In a statement by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, CSP, Frank Mba, ??? of Police, Mohammad Abubakar charged officers, especially those in the EOD unit to take advantage of the donate equipment in delivering the Force’s mandate of making Nigeria a crime and explosive free Nation. He also called on other corporate organizations to emulate the United State’s gesture in supporting the Police Force in the fight against crime.
The US Department of State has also successfully trained some Nigeria Police Personnel attached to the anti Bomb Unit in modern bomb disposal techniques and explosives investigation courses.
