FG to Develop Policy on Security
The Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade has inaugurated a team of security experts to facilitate the development of a National Policy on Public Security and Safety in Nigeria.
The Minister explained that the policy document would among other things be concerned with the roles and responsibilities of individuals, community and various tiers of government in ensuring peace and orderliness in the society. The document he added would provide a road map and rules of engagement of security agencies on matters relating to Internal Security.
He noted that the facilitators of the project, led by Professor Femi Odekunle were selected based on their track records and charged on excellent performance.
A member of the team, Dr. Tukur Bello Ingawa assured the Minister a policy that would make every Nigerian take the issue of security as personal business.
