President-Elect expresses readiness for work

President-elect, Bola Tinubu says he has begun daily engagements in earnest with his team, refining ideas and policy solutions to begin his administration actively, working toward the common good from the very first day he assumes office*

In a statement, the incoming President says he accepts and is ready for the task ahead.

acknowledging the talks of a government of national unity making the rounds, Tinubu says his aim is higher than that as he rather seeks a government of national competence.

In quotes, the President-elect says “In selecting my government, I shall not be weighed down by considerations extraneous to abiilty and performance. The day for political gamesmanship is long gone. I shall assemble competent men and women and young people from across Nigeria to build a safer, more prosperous and just Nigeria. There shall be young people. Women shall be prominent. Whether your faith leads you to pray in a church or mosque will not determine your place in government. Character and competence will.” Unquote.

He believes to secure the nation and make it prosperous must be the people’s top priorities, saying he cannot sacrifice these goals to political expediencies.

Tinubu says and I quote, “Dear Nigerians, this is our country. This is our moment. We dare not waste it. Nor do we back away to accept a lesser version of ourselves and of our collective fate. We can no longer be satisfied with calling ourselves the giant of Africa. We must devote ourselves to doing those great and historic things only a giant can do. As your president elect, I shall do my utmost in this regard for this is my sworn duty.

The President-elect who acknowledges the constitutional right of his opponents in the recently concluded presidential election, to seek legal recourse, he says he has set his course and mind on the leadership, committed to getting the work done for the benefit of all the people regardless of whom they voted for.

He calls Nigerians to be ready and support him in Charting a new course for the social and economic development in cities and rural communities of the country.
